Veggie Burger and Sweet Potato Fries

We had yet another veggie burger stuffed in pita’s with all of the topping and sweet potato fries. This time we tried a recipe with textured vegetable protein out of Vegan with a Vengeance.

They were pretty simple to make, they kept their shape while cooking (!!) and they had a chewy, almost meaty-like bite to it. They were really yummy and filling.

We prepared the patties ahead of time, popped them in the fridge and headed to the gym. They were a perfect meal after a hard workout.

I must admit though, I prefer veggie “burgers” made from a base of beans. I find them more flavourful — but they just never want to keep their shape in the frying pan and usually have a mushy-like consistency.
