Comfort Food for the Heart and Soul

A simple lintel dal with rice and steamed vegetables makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
You can whip it together in about 30 mins. with the stuff already in your pantry.
There are of course many variations on dal — but shown here:
1 cup mix of dry red lintels and split yellow peas cooked in a mild vegetable broth with a pinch of tumeric, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin and a heaping teaspoon of curry paste.

I’ve never made dal! It sounds and looks quite good, I won’t be surprised if I end up making some later this week…
I’ve had it twice this week so far — it’s one of those easy/lazy meals that taste sooOOoo good — I wouldn’t be surprised if I ate it pretty much all week. If you don’t watch out, you may get addicted too
What I love is that it’s so simple, yet there are so many variations to it.
