Adopting a mainly plant-based diet is easy and delicious

Hi, I’m Natalie.

I’m a 31-year-old Canadian who has been living in the Netherlands for the past 6 years.

I’m a health and eco-conscious vegetarian who cooks with passion and eats with her heart

I do not eat any meat or fish and I try to use a minimal amount of animal products such as cheese, milk, butter, honey or eggs. It’s better for me, the planet and the animals. And it’s alot easier to do than you probably think!

I LOVE good food — and photography is one of my hobbies — so voilà: this blog was born. Most of the pictures you see here have been taken on my kitchen table with a Nikon D200 and an SB800 speedlight.

If you have any questions, drop me a comment — I’m a pretty open person.

  3. Hello Natalie,

I started my own vegie blog a short time ago, called “the happy vegetarian”! Now I found your blog on the web and thought, here is another happy vegetarian!! Maybe it is better I change the name of my blog? I will see if I come up with anything. In any case, I have been looking at your dishes and became very excited! I would love to try some of your dishes! Your blog looks great.

    Best regards,
    Monique

ps. I just started my blog and still need to do a lot of work!! But here is the address already and I’m open to any tips you have for me.

  4. Stumbled upon your website whilst going through del.icio.us tags and subscriptions and just thought I would leave you a note saying how much I am enjoying your site up to now [I have only been on it about 10 mins and have really got into the cupcake idea, it's that topping]. I have been veggie since being about 14 years old [left it a couple of times *sadly* only to find I do not feel right eating meat] / 22 years ago! I have only been online since 2003 and am overjoyed to find veggie recipies that are easy, health conscious [I once found a veggie meal book which contained recipes made with way to much butter / dairy THEN fish and even one with beef stock?!?] and taste delicious. Don’t stop the recipes and thankyou!

  5. Hi Natalie! Thank you for accepting my friend request on last.fm. That’s also how I got to your website. I recognise many of my own ideals in your outlook on life. I am not a vegetarian (sorry! :) but eat a 95% organic diet with a minimum of meat/fish (meat/fish only organic). I live in Utrecht, so maybe it’s fun to meet up sometime there to have an organic-veggie lunch or dinner? Since our music compatibility is also ‘very high’ I’m sure we will have many things to talk about. And great, all the links on your site, I have a vegetarian cooking book but these ware wonderful. Groetjes, Marije

  7. Nathalie,
I stubled upon your blog today and had it bookmarked within five minutes of reading it. I enjoy your postive message of being a happy vegetarian. It reminds me of happy and vibrant I’ve felt every day since I became one myself. Your recipes look great and we look forward to trying them. Thanks!

    Ciao,

    Chris
